Referring to Article 980 of the Civil Code, males under 18 years of age and females under 16 years of age are not allowed to get married. Further in Article 981, underage citizens who want to get married must be approved by their legal representatives.
Hence, underage citizens must submit the written consent of their legal representatives to apply for marriage registration.
