How do citizens under hospitalization or in custody of corrective facilities apply for marriage registration?

(1)If an applicant needs to be hospitalized for serious illness or stay home for recovery or is in custody of a correction facility and cannot apply for marriage registration to the household registration office personally, he/she may make a marriage registration booking at the household registration office. The household registration office may send staff to the hospital, the home of the applicant, or the correction facility to bring back relevant marriage documents after the applicant expresses his/her marriage will and finish marriage registration on that day.

(2)In addition, the household registration office accepting the case may ask the jurisdiction household registration office of the hospital where the applicant is admitted, where the applicant lives, or of the correction facility where the applicant is held, to assist in verifying the request is true and send the result to the household registration office accepting the case on the same day to finish marriage registration. The assisting household registration office should send an official reply to the household registration office accepting the case within three days for archival.
